Low Back Pain and Chiropractic
Did you know surveys show about 3 million Australians (13.6% of the population) have back problems. It is estimated that 70–90% of people will suffer from lower back pain in some form at some point in their lives.
What causes low back pain?
Low back pain has a number of causes, each with differing symptoms that you may notice. The most common causes of simple low back pain include muscular strain, joint sprain, and minor disc inflammation.
Pain can also be referred to the low back from the hips, sacroiliac joints, gluteal muscles and abdomen. In more rare cases there can also be referral from some abdominal organs. The chiropractor at Dubbo Spine Centre will perform a full history and assessment to determine the cause of your low back pain, and provide you with an accurate diagnosis. If we determine that the cause of your low back pain is something we can’t help with, we will send you to someone who can!
Most causes of lower back pain are relatively simple, however if you are suffering from persistent pain, you should definitely get it looked at to rule out any underlying issues or conditions.
Treatment will vary and depends on the cause of your low back pain. Treatments are usually focused on the low back, gluteal, and pelvic region depending, of course, of the cause of your low back pain. Care usually involves some soft-tissue/massage-type work, and some gentle chiropractic manipulations to the areas of concern. You will often get some exercises and stretches in order to help get you better faster.
